Southern Mexico and Nicaragua. 

MINIMUM TEMPERATURE: 10 °C

IDEAL MINIMUM TEMPERATURE: 12 °C

SYNONYMS:

 P. hibiscifolia Lam., P. liebmannii Mast.

ETYMOLOGY:

From the Latin foetidus, which smells, smelly, unwelcome.
From the leaves similar to those of the Hibiscus, (Malvaceae).
